Common question
| Question: | Can I just move into an aged care home when I feel I'm ready? |
| Answer: | To move into an aged care home, you firstly require an assessment and approval by an Aged Care Assessment Team (ACAT). A member of the ACAT, who may be a doctor, nurse, social worker or other health professional, will assess your care and health needs and advise you on the type and level of care services best able to meet your care needs, either in the community or in an aged care home. For the ACAT nearest to you, contact the Commonwealth Carelink Centre on 1800 052 222.
