Common question
| Question: | How private are rooms in aged care homes? Will staff just come in like they do in hospital? |
| Answer: | Your privacy should be respected and this is included in the 'Charter of Residents' Rights and Responsibilities.
If you have your own bedroom, staff should not come into your room without knocking or being asked, except in an emergency. If you share a bedroom, you should be aware that staff need to find a balance between recognising and respecting your right to privacy and meeting the needs of others who share your bedroom. |
