Common question

Question: How long will my ACAT assessment last?
Answer: An ACAT approval to receive Australian Government-subsidised aged care services, remains valid for 12 months, unless the ACAT specifies a shorter time. If your care needs change significantly and the services you are receiving can no longer meet your needs, another ACAT assessment may be requested and you may be approved for a different care service. If you are receiving the type of care the ACAT approved you for, the approval remains valid, unless you leave that service, then if it has been over 12 months since your approval, you will need another assessment to see if your care needs have changed.
